Dear Resident,
On behalf of the Saga Neighborhood Security Working Committee, we would like to announce some major changes in the security program for the Saga neighborhood. The committee has to revise the security plan as proposed during the resident meeting dated 15 August 2009 because of difficulties in obtaining approval from the authorities.
The changes will be as follows:
- Jalan SD 8/1 is considered by the authorities as a public road. It is used by residents from other sections as well as being the main access road to the Mosque. We are not allowed to block access to this road at any time.
- The SNS committee has drafted an alternate security plan where SD 8/1 will become the security boundary. We will erect barrier on SD 8/2, SD 8/3, SD 8/4 and SD 8/5 to seal off access from SD 8/1. Autogates will be placed in SD 8/2 and SD 8/5 for resident access. The current resident access in SD 8/6 will remain. This means that SD 8/1A, 8/1B and 8/1C will be left outside of the secure zone. This is unfortunate but we will provide more frequent patrolling of the above areas. We will provide more details of the new in a few days time.
- The three boom gates that are currently located on SD 8/1 (two near the Mosque and one near the Shell station) will be dismantled and relocated.
- Installation of CCTV and road barriers requires security plan approval from the authorities. We have initiated the process to obtain the necessary approvals from the authorities.
- Before the new security plan is put in place we will provide round the clock patrolling of SD 8/1.
